The NAIA third-ranked Sea Lions lost at No. 4 Concordia 7-2 Tuesday afternoon at the Racquet Club of Irvine. PLNU now stands at 11-3 in the GSAC with 15-3 record overall, while Concordia's standing moves to 11-4 in GSAC and 16-3 overall.
The two points for the Sea Lions came in singles from Kiersten Steinhauer playing on court six and Kristin Strimple at one. Both played well, winning in straight sets. Steinhauer finished 6-3 and 6-3 while Strimple won 6-1, 6-3.
"They [CUI] were just playing better than we were today," said Coach Hills. "We let it get away from us."
The two GSAC teams split the two-game season series. The last time Loma went up against the Eagles it was the Sea Lions who pulled off a tough 5-4 win.
The next match Green and Gold will play is on home courts against UC San Diego on Thursday April 15 at 2:00pm.
