The NAIA No. 4-ranked Sea Lions defeated #14 Westmont 6-0 Wednesday afternoon. PLNU won all of the singles points and began doubles play with the Warriors but the match was called to a halt by the Plaza Racquet Club which, apparently, had other bookings.
Regardless, the Sea Lions improved to 10-1 on the year, 7-1 in GSAC play with the victory.
Kristin Strimple nearly blanked her opponent on court one. Ashley Litchfield was pushed to 7-5 in the opening set on two but closed out Ilissa Mathews 6-1 in the second. Rachel Owens cruised on three, losing just two games. Jessica Kwan, Kiersten Steinhauer and Wileen Chiu each shutout their opponents on courts 4-5-6.
The Sea Lions will host Vanguard on Tuesday. That match starts at 2:00 pm.
