The No. 3 ranked Sea Lion took out the broom for Tuesday's conference match with Biola, making a neat sweep on the PLNU courts. The match began with some changes up in the ladder in both singles and doubles.
In singles competition, Jessica Kwan played one, Wileen Chui was at two, Kiersten Steinhauer took three, Samantha Mohr played four, Isabella Tumini was five for the day and Foster was at six. All did very well in their competition despite the new court placement, each winning in straight sets, though Mohr was pushed to a super tie-breaker.
When asked about playing up, Kwan said, "I was kinda nervous at first but loosened up eventually. Some of the girls that played don't normally play, so it was cool that everyone got a chance to in this match."
Steinhauer added, "It was weird for me to play next to the crowd. It was kind of nerve wracking, but it was good for me."
In doubles, two and three were manned by Mohr and Tumini, Brooke Foster and Naomi Garcia, respectively. Both points went to the Sea Lions with court three coming ahead in a tie-breaker. Kristin Strimple and Kwan partnered at court one and did not drop a game.
The sweep puts Loma to 13-1 with a GSAC record of 10-1. Biola now has a 5-12 record and is 2-10 in conference.
The Green and Gold's next match is set for April 9th to be played against Cal State Bakersfield on their home courts.
