SAN DIEGO – The NAIA No. 3-ranked PLNU ladies delivered a clean sweep to visiting Biola on Saturday, winning all nine match points. Loma's record improves to 12-1 overall with 8-1 in GSAC while Biola drops to 2-14 overall with a GSAC record of 1-9.
Singles went fast as the Sea Lions proceeded to win every set in the match. Playing one today was Jessica Kwan who won 6-2, 6-1. Rachel Owens was on court two, winning her match 6-2, 6-0. Wileen Chiu played court three finishing 6-1, 6-3, while Hope Penner on court four took two 6-0 sets from BU.
Kiersten Steinhauer was on court five, proudly completing her match with only two games lost, 6-1, 6-1. Last was Kolbie Kiefer on six who won 7-6, 6-3 which was the closest Biola would come to winning today.
Loma cleaned out the doubles points quickly, taking two 8-1 wins from courts one and three and an 8-0 win from court two. Court one was played by Kristin Strimple and Ashley Litchfield while court two saw Kwan and Owens win. Court three held Steinhauer and Chiu.
The Sea Lions next play a conference match against Hope International on Tuesday at 2 p.m. on the PLNU Courts.
