SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- The NAIA third-ranked Sea Lions swept Westmont 9-0 Saturday afternoon. Loma's record continues to climb to 14-1 and 10-1 in GSAC while Westmont falls to 5-12 overall with 5-8 in GSAC.

Doubles began this match with three straight wins for PLNU. No. 3 team Rachel Owens and Maika Adair won 8-0 and finished first, followed closely by the No. 2 team of Wileen Chiu and Kiersten Steinhauer with a 8-2 win. Last to finish doubles were Kristin Strimple and Ashley Litchfield on court one, completing an 8-4 win.

Singles followed in similar fashion, each lady winning in straight sets. First to complete her match was No. 5 Chiu, winning both sets 6-0, as did the next Sea Lion to finish, Hope Penner on court six. Owens on court four took her point for PLNU next with 6-1, 6-2. No. 1 Strimple finished 6-1 in both sets with Adair taking her match on court three 6-1, 6-1 soon after. Litchfield won her match with a final score of 6-2, 6-4.

Loma next faces off No. 10 Vanguard on home courts on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
