WHAT'S HAPPENING:
The Point Loma men's basketball team will jump back into Pacific West Conference play this Saturday (Dec. 5) when it hosts Grand Canyon at 3:00 p.m. This is the first home conference game for PLNU since Dec. 1.

A LOOK AT THE SEA LIONS:
Point Loma is currently 3-7 on the season and 0-3 in the Pacific West Conference. The Sea Lions continue to hang their hat on their defensive efforts. They are limiting opponents to just 56.2 points per game and 39 percent shooting from the field. Only once this season has the opposition eclipsed the 70 point barrier on PLNU, and just three times have they topped 60 points. The Sea Lions are also outrebounding their opponents (+0.9), have a better assists-to-turnover ratio and connected on more 3-pointers.
Todd Campbell,
Oivind Lundestad and
Trevor Peterson are each averaging seven points to pace Point Loma. Campbell leads the team with 27.7 minutes played and 71 points on the year.
AJ Ussery leads the squad with 6.0 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.5 blocks. Lundestad's 13 treys also top the squad, although Peterson is making up ground with eight 3-pointers in three games played.
A LOOK AT GRAND CANYON:
The 'Lopes have won 12 straight games and now stand 13-2 on the season and a perfect 4-0 in the PacWest Conference. Joshua Lowery leads the team with 13.1 points per game. Killian Larson is also averaging in double-figures with 11.9 points and paces the team with 8.3 boards per game. As a team GCU is averaging 72.7 ppg and outrebounding their opponents by five caroms a game.

Following the game with GCU, Point Loma will continue PacWest play on Tuesday, Jan. 8 at Azusa Pacific. This will be the second and final time APU and PLNU will meet during the regular season in PacWest play. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
