SAN DIEGO - The Point Loma women's tennis team dominated Concordia, sweeping both singles and doubles, en route to a 9-0 win on Tuesday, Apr. 2.

The Sea Lions are now 7-12 on the season. Concordia drops to 8-9.

PLNU opened the match by grabbing all three doubles points. Maika Adair and Sharon Reibstein won in the No. 1 position over Elizaveta Ignatova and Mona Piller 8-1. Hope Penner and Preethika Venugopal put together nearly as impressive performance at No. 2 with an 8-2 victory. Wileen Chiu and Kiersten Steinhauer sent Point Loma to the 3-0 lead with an 8-1 win at No. 3.

The Sea Lions dominated just as much in singles as in doubles. Maika Adair, Sharon Reibstein, Wileen Chiu, Preethika Venugopal and Kirsty Mountain each picked up another team point for PLNU with straight set victories. No Eagle even won three games against the Sea Lions in the five sets.

Hope Penner and Ulrike Hahn was the only match to go three sets. Hahn won the first set 6-3 before Penner won set two 6-0. The two then played a tiebreaker to decide the match and the team point in which Penner won 10-3.

The Sea Lions' next match will be Friday, Apr. 5 at 11:30 a.m. at Azusa Pacific.
