SAN DIEGO - For the second time in two week the Point Loma and BYU-Hawaii men's tennis teams faced off. However, this time there was much more on the line as the teams battled for fifth place in the Pacific West Conference Championships on Saturday, Apr. 20. The Sea Lions would again put up a fight but in the end it was the Seasiders which prevailed 5-2.
PLNU picked up one of the three doubles points to start of the competition as the tandem of
Kaptan Kaster and
Daniel Milliken won 8-5 at the No. 3 doubles spot.
The match then shifted to singles with the Seasiders needing three points and the Sea Lions needing four for the victory. BYU-Hawaii reached its mark first with wins at No. 2, 3 and 5 singles spots. PLNU picked up its lone singles win at No. 4 where
Bram Kevelaerts won in straight sets over Isaac Hadley 6-0 and 6-2.
With the loss the Sea Lions finish the season 8-17.
