Â
The victory helped PLNU (10-6, 7-1 PacWest) pull within a half-match of both Dixie State and BYU-Hawaii, who were both idle tonight, for first place in the Pacific West Conference standings. The loss keeps the Argonauts winless on the season at 0-15 (0-8 PacWest).
Â

Â
Even though the Sea Lions earned the sweep the victory did not come easy. PLNU had to come from behind in the second set after falling behind 22-18. The Sea Lions then scored five straight points behind
Delaney McCraney's serve before finishing NDNU off 26-24 in the second set to take a commanding 2-0 match lead.
mcKensey Wise provided the Sea Lions with energy and excitement as she got on her home court for the first time this season. The senior helped spark the comeback with two blocks as she provided that mental lift to her teammates and the PLNU crowd. Â Point Loma would finish off NDNU with a 25-17 win in set three.
Â
"We came out really, really strong before faltering a little in the second set when Notre Dame de Namur really picked up the intensity, but coming out 3-0 is great," said Point Loma head coach
Jonathan Scott.
Â
The Sea Lions will stay on their home court this weekend as they welcome in two other Bay Area teams. PLNU will host Dominican (CA) on Friday, Oct. 10 at 7:00 p.m., and Academy of Art on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 5:00 p.m.
Â
"We have to keep our mental state in the right place (for the upcoming matches)," said Scott. "It is rare where you have three matches in four days so we have to be sure we can get into focus for the next match quicker and put in two scouting reports."
