PLNU Alumni watch update-July 2014

Here is a quick look back at some former PLNU student-athletes that have continued in athletics after finishing at PLNU:
 
Graham Yantis: Men's Basketball, 2008-10

Wil Bush: Men's Basketball, 2010-12
Bush returns to PLNU as an assistant coach with the men's basketball team. Last year, he was an assistant coach for Edmonds Junior College in Washington.
 
Sam Cyr: Men's Golf, 2006-09
Cyr moved to the PGA Canadian Tour in 2014. He has played in five tournaments and is averaging 71.69 strokes. His best finish was the opening tournament when he shot 5-under par to finish tied for 23rd.
 
Tyler Garkow: Baseball, 2012-13
Garkow has continued to thrive on the mound with the Roswell Invaders of the Pecos League. In 12 starts this season he is 4-5 with a 3.64 ERA and a 1.11 WHIP. He has struck out 92 batters in 79 innings and is tied for the team-lead with four complete games. He is eighth in the league in ERA and second in strikeouts. Garkow was also named a Pecos League All-Star this season.
 
Colleen Planeta: Women's Basketball, 2006-10
Planeta has dominated for Hume City in Australian's Big V Basketball League. She leads the league with 22.5 points and 3.7 blocks. She is also second in rebounds (11.3) and fifth in steals (27).
 
Ciara Carl: Women's Basketball, 2001-05
Carl returns to San Diego as an assistant coach with the San Diego State women's basketball team. This is the third coaching stop for Carl. She was an assistant with Metro State in 2012-13 after spending the previous two seasons at Cal Poly Pomona.
 
Jay Johnson: Baseball, 1998-01
The former PLNU baseball head coach helped guide the Nevada baseball team to a 31-27 record in his first year as the head coach of the Wolfpack. The team went 18-6 at home and reached the Mountain West Conference Championship game before falling in extra innings to UNLV.
 
Katie Pedlowe: Women's Soccer, 2008-11
The Sea Lions' assistant coach was married on Sunday, June 29 to Tyler Priest. PLNU head coach Tim Hall performed the ceremony.

Kellen Walker: Baseball, 2005-06
Walker led Western Oregon to its 13th straight Great Northwest Athletic Conference title in his second season at the helm of the Wolves. He helped guide WOU to a 30-21 record in 2014 and now has a career record of 64-41.
 
Aimee Bird: Volleyball, 2010-11
Bird returns to PLNU in the Fall as an assistant volleyball coach after a one-year hiatus from the team.
  
Xavier Lopez: Men's Basketball, 2005-07
Lopez has entered the collegiate coaching ranks. Last year he was with the Kansas State women's basketball team and this year he will be working with the University of Oregon coaching staff. 

Alli Greenaway: Women's Basketball, 2001-05
Greenaway is back on the PLNU campus as the External Relations Coordinator.
