PLNU Athletics mourns the loss of the legendary
Hall of Famer John Davis, who passed away over the weekend.
Â
Davis was an inaugural member of the PLNU Athletics Hall of Fame, Class of 1982, after excelling in three sports (basketball, baseball and track & field) for Pasadena College from 1951-54.
Â
During his standout basketball career, Davis was the second-leading scorer in Crusaders' history with over 2,200 points, while averaging over 20 points per game for his career.
Â
He led PC to the District III championship and NAIA National Tournament in 1952-53 with a 34-2 record that season.
Â
An esteemed member of the legendary "Firehouse Five", Davis also earned NAIA All-American honors in 1953-54, leading Pasadena to another District III title and back to the NAIA National Tournament.
Â
Over his four-year PC basketball career, Davis' Crusaders accumulated an 86-19 overall record.
Â
In baseball, Davis played nearly every position and was a consistent fixture in the Crusaders' lineup, while consistently winning on the track in the 220-yard dash.
