Ryan Looney announced his second recruiting class as the head of the Point Loma men's basketball program on Wednesday, Apr. 12. The Sea Lions' 2017-18 class will include three transfers and three freshmen.

"We are excited about our first full recruiting class," said coach Looney. "My staff worked extremely hard to put this group together. I am thankful for their hard work and constant communication."

Here is a look at each member in Point Loma men's basketball's 2017-18 recruiting class:

Preston Beverly, 6-7, 215 lbs, Jr., F, Wildomar, Calif. (Elsinore HS)
Beverly is transferring from Montana State University-Billings. This past season he averaged 18.8 ppg, 8.2 rpg and 2.3 apg. He was named first team All-GNAC and during the 2015-16 season he was the GNAC Freshman of the Year.
Coach Looney quote: "Preston has already displayed his ability to be successful at our level. With his length and ability to score in multiple ways, we think he is a great fit for our team."

Sean Dunn, 6-9, 240 lbs, Fr., C, Phoenix, Ariz. (Brophy Prep)
Dunn signed during the early signing period and will be a freshman for PLNU in 2017-18. During his senior season at Brophy Prep, he led his team to a 19-8 record and a ranking of ninth in the 6A classification. Dunn averaged 10.2 ppg and 7.9 rpg. He was named 6A Premier Basketball First Team All-Region.
Coach Looney quote: "Sean is big and has great feet and hands. We love his size and ability to move. With time he be a great player at this level."

Sam Linsky, 6-2, 180 lbs, Fr., PG, Kirkland, Wash. (Lake Washington HS)
Linsky will join the Sea Lions as a freshman. During his senior season at Lake Washington High School he averaged 15.3 ppg, 7.1 apg, 7.5 rpg and 2.1 spg. He was named to the All-KingCo Team.
Coach Looney quote: "Sam is a great addition to our group. He has the ability to impact the game in a lot of ways. His addition gives us great depth at the point guard position."

Luke Lovelady, 6-8, 200 lbs, Fr., F, Forward Tacoma, Wash. (Life Christian Academy)
Lovelady also signed with Point Loma during the early signing period. He will be a freshman after graduating from Life Christian Academy. During his senior season he averaged 23.1 ppg, 14.0 rpg and 6.0 apg.  He was 2B Pacific League Most Valuable Player and Washington 2B State Player of the Year.
Coach Looney quote: "Luke has a chance to develop into a special player in the PacWest. He has great length and athleticism. We are excited to start working with him."

Tanner Nelson, 6-3, 195 lbs, Jr., G, Vancouver, Wash. (Union HS)
Nelson will transfer in from BYU-Hawaii as a junior. This past season he was named third team All-PacWest while averaging 16.8 ppg, 5.8 rpg and 2.8 apg. He will be the top returning scorer in the conference.
Coach Looney quote: "Tanner is a big guard that can really score. We think he is a great fit for our system. I have watched him for many years including seeing him win a Washington State Championship in high school."

Ziggy Satterthwaite, 6-6, 230 lbs, Jr., C, Puyallup, Wash. (Rogers HS)
Satterthwaite is transferring in as a junior from North Idaho College. This past year he averaged 14.3 ppg, 8.1 rpg and shot 62.0 percent from the floor. He was named Second Team All-NWAC.
Coach Looney quote: "Ziggy is exactly what we needed to add at his position. He plays with great energy on both ends of the floor and can really score with his back to the basket."

The Point Loma men's basketball team will return nine letterwinners from its 2016-17 squad, which went 17-13 (11-9 PacWest) and made a run to the PacWest Championship game.
