Words from Alli Kim
On the team fighting through tough conditions in round 2: "After yesterday we knew we were close and we came into today with the goal and focus of placing better. We took it on ourselves to do what needed to be done, and it worked out in the end."
Â
On the consistency from the team: "One thing that coach
Lance Hancock has focused on this year is to play all the way until the end of the round. Sometimes you can get anxious with your last holes or after a bad hole, but it is about being mentally stable the entire round."
Â
On her second round: "There was definitely some strokes from yesterday that I could have saved, so I was trying to get those back today. I tried to just stay calm and stay up with the leader (Jaime Jacob). I just wanted to make sure I stayed calm and didn't get too overzealous after a birdie. I was hitting good shots, and whenever I got a birdie opportunity I focused to make the putt. Overall it was a steady round."
Â
On lessons team can take from the tournament: "Our finish in this tournament shows the potential we have as a team. This was a very strong field, and many of these teams will be at the Dixie State Invite next week, so it was great to see our potential and see that we can compete against these other teams."
