(SAN DIEGO) PLNU Baseball shortstop
Scott Anderson has now won every top individual honor offered by the PacWest Conference.
Â
Anderson was announced on Thursday as the PacWest Male Scholar Athlete of the Year, wrapping up his historic final season on The Point.
Â
He is the first Sea Lion ever to be named the conference's
Male Athlete of the Year and Male Scholar Athlete of the Year in the same season.
Â
Â
Anderson, who was previously voted the PacWest Player of the Year in baseball, is the second-straight Sea Lion to receive the conference's Male Scholar Athlete of the Year award.
Â
Alexander Leischner (men's tennis) earned the honor a year ago, as voted on by conference athletic directors.
Â
Anderson, the PacWest Scholar Athlete of the Year in baseball, beat out six other candidates, including three other Sea Lions, who represented their respective sports.
Â
The Carlsbad native possesses a 4.0 GPA in his Master of Administration program after completing his undergraduate degree in computer science with a 3.71 GPA.
The All-American shortstop batted .392 this season with 15 home runs and 66 RBIs. He finishes his PLNU career as the program's all-time leader in hits and RBIs.
Â
Earlier this month, Anderson received
CSC Academic All-America® First Team honors, a year after being named to the Academic All-America® Third Team.
