Kiara Hernandez leads the RJGA Shootout at Estrella after one round at the Golf Club of Estrella.
Hernandez sits atop the individual leaderboard after shooting a one-under 71 on Monday, leading by two strokes as the only player under par.
She began the day on hole 16 and shot two-under through nine with two birdies and no bogeys.
After carding two more birdies and a pair of bogeys over the next five holes, a double bogey on 12 moved her back to even before she immediately responded with a birdie on the par-five 13th to finish the day at one-under.
Hernandez leads all players with five birdies and a two-under score on par-five holes. On par-fours, she shot even-par on the day, while recording a score of one-over on par-threes.
Avery Sky is tied-for-29th after shooting a six-over 78 in her Sea Lions debut.
Euni Han (81) and
Mallory Hopper (81) are tied-for-47th at nine-over. Hopper is tied-for-second in the tournament with four birdies.
Point Loma recorded an overall team score of 313 to sit in a tie-for-ninth as a team, just five shots back of a four-way tie for first place.
The RJGA Shootout concludes with the second round on Tuesday. The Sea Lions will tee off at 7:30 a.m.
