RESULTS
(SAN DIEGO) PLNU Women's Track & Field broke two program records on Saturday at the Aztec Invitational, hosted by San Diego State.
Maddie Reeves ran a program best 16:44.46 in the 5,000 meters, beating the previous program record by over 12 seconds. Her time placed her fourth in the event on the day, with only NCAA Division I athletes finishing ahead of her.
In the fall, Reeves set a new PLNU Women's Cross Country record in the 6K.
Point Loma also set a new program record in the 4x100 meter relay, with
Madison Simmers, Lily Gomez,
Angelica Gomes and
Blanca Granados finishing in a time of 47.19 seconds. That mark beat the previous record, which had stood since 2011, by .02 seconds.
Gomes also moved up to No. 2 in program history in the 400 meters, running a career-best 55.32 seconds to place second in the event.
Granados (12.11 seconds) and Gomez (12.12 seconds) ran personal-best times in the 100 meters, ranking fourth and fifth in program history respectively.
Danielle Gould won the pole vault, claiming her second meet victory this season, with a personal best vault of 3.68 meters.
Peyton Yoshida and
Brianne Camarena also cleared that same height but at a later attempt, tying for second in the event.
Reagan Cole set a new personal record with a 400-meter hurdle time of 63.4 seconds to place second in the race.
