"This was a formative weekend for Sea Lions Track & Field," said Jake Poyner, Director of Cross Country and Track & Field. Two relay teams also scored points for the Sea Lions on the day in the 4x100 meters and 4x400 meters with seventh-place finishes.

Madison Simmers, Angelica Gomes, Sullivan and McGarry combined to run 49.12 seconds in the 4x100, while Helena Simms, Gomes, Sullivan and McGarry ran 3:51.73 in the 4x400.

"We'd like to thank our strength & conditioning staff, our sports medicine staff, and our Sports Information Department for the awesome support and investment in Point Loma Track & Field," Poyner said. "Associate Head Coach Avery Takata and our assistant coaches continue to do an elite job guiding this team towards competitive growth within our faith-based framework. The Point is a special place to be.

"We look forward to celebrating our seniors and the legacy and impact they've made within this program."
