(SAN DIEGO) For the second straight meet,
Maddie Reeves broke a Point Loma program record.
Two weeks after setting the PLNU Women's Track & Field record in the 5,000 meters, she set a new program mark in the 10,000 meters.
At the Stanford Invitational on Friday, Reeves ran a time of 34:28.75 to shatter the previous program record of 36:13.74 held by Alex Hernandez since 2017. Her time currently ranks her seventh this season in all of NCAA Division II.
Reeves' record-breaking performance highlighted another hugely successful weekend for Point Loma, with Sea Lions competing in three different meets once again.
At the Triton Invite hosted by UC San Diego,
Danielle Gould moved up to No. 3 all-time in program history in the pole vault, recording a new personal-best mark of 3.77 meters.
Angelica Gomes now ranks seventh among Sea Lions all-time in the 200 meters, finishing in a time of 25.07 seconds.
Makenna Sullivan remains fifth all-time in program history in the triple jump, setting a new personal-best mark of 11.71 meters.
Six other Sea Lions set new PR's, including
Eliana Perks (39:45) who beat her previous best time in the 10,000 meters by 1:26, and
Helena Simms who ran 59.27 seconds in the 400 meters to break 60 seconds for the first time.
Others to set new personal-best marks were
Lola Wright (400 hurdles – 66.59 seconds),
Bree Gentry (800 meters – 2:14.2),
Rowan Cebulski (javelin – 28.94 meters) and
Rylee Flanagan (triple jump – 10.53 meters).
Katherine Heekin (3.50 meters) and
Eva Koutelieris (3.35 meters) both recorded season-best marks in the pole vault.
Point Loma will compete next at the Pomona-Pitzer Invite on Saturday.
