(SAN DIEGO) PLNU Baseball right hander Derek Silva was named PacWest Pitcher of the Week after his masterful start at Chico State on Thursday.
 
Silva hurled six innings of one-run ball, striking out six batters while only allowing three hits, as Point Loma won the series opener by an 11-3 scoreline.

Silva's start sparked the Sea Lions, who won the first three games of their four-game set to win the series against the Wildcats.

Point Loma (4-3 overall) returns to Carroll B. Land Stadium on Friday to host Hawai'i Pacific in the PacWest openers for both teams.
