SAN DIEGO -- NAIA No. 10-ranked Point Loma Nazarene edged visiting NCAA DII Grand Canyon 5-4 Thursday afternoon at the PLNU Tennis Courts. The Sea Lions lost two of three doubles points but rallied to win four points in singles and claim the team win.
The teams played doubles to start things off and the Antelopes took advantage. Loma struggled and couldn't take control, losing 8-6 on court one and 9-8 on court three. Sea Lions Tyler Bowman and Diego Tavera fought to win the first point for PLNU, managing to redeem the match's shaky beginning with a slim 9-8 win.
Going into singles, the Sea Lions turned up their game.
