The Point Loma volleyball team will close out its 2013 regular season home schedule against three opponents from Hawaii. The Sea Lions will welcome in Chaminade on Friday, Nov. 8 at 7:00 p.m., No. 4 BYU-Hawaii on Saturday at 5:00 p.m., and Hawaii Pacific on Tuesday (Nov. 12) at 7:00 p.m.

SENIOR SALUTE ON TUESDAY:
Tuesday's match against Hawaii Pacific will also be Senior Day.
Kelsey Barker,
Marissa Ellow and
Jeana Holman will all be putting on the Point Loma jersey for the final time at home in the match. There will be a ceremony prior to the match to honor the three seniors. Barker and Ellow are both four-year letterwinner for the Sea Lions, while Holman joined the squad prior to last year.
A LOOK AT THE SEA LIONS:
Point Loma will come into the weekend tied for second in the PacWest Conference with California Baptist at 13-3. The Sea Lions bounced back from losing consecutive matches in the PacWest for the first time this season with a four-set victory on the road at Fresno Pacific last Saturday (Nov. 2). That win was the first for the Sea Lions over the Sunbirds in 22 matches which extended back to the 2003 season.
Heather Leavitt leads the Sea Lions and ranks third in the PacWest with 3.98 kills per match. She is also third with 4.49 points per match and 15th with 3.41 digs.
Savannah Wedemeyer is averaging 11.16 assists to rank second in the PacWest.
Alyssa Dwyer is fourth in hitting percentage (.337) and 10th in kills (3.12).
Kelli LeClair has also steadily climbed in the PacWest standings and now ranks fifth in kills with 3.35 per set. She is also sixth in points (3.90), 18th in hitting percentage (.253) and 19th in digs (3.05). Freshman libero
Christin Fisher is pacing the Sea Lions and 12th in the PacWest with 3.64 digs.
As a team Point Loma ranks second in kills (14.07) and third in both assists (13.04) and hitting percentage (.230). It also ranks second in service aces (1.82) and fourth in opponent hitting percentage (.162).
A LOOK AT THE SILVERSWORDS:
Chaminade rides a four-match winning streak into Friday's matchup with Point Loma. All four wins came at home, including a five-set victory over then No. 23 Fresno Pacific. CUH is now 9-12 on the season and 6-10 in the PacWest. Kim Spring paces the squad with 3.04 kills per set. When Chaminade and Point Loma matched up earlier this season in Hawaii the Sea Lions came away with a sweep.
Kelli LeClair had 18 kills to lead the Sea Lions.
A LOOK AT THE SEASIDERS:
BYU-Hawaii leads the PacWest Conference by two matches with a 15-1 conference record (20-1 overall). It has moved up to No. 4 in the NCAA rankings after winning its last 13 straight matches. The Seasiders are leading the PacWest in nearly every category. They are pacing the league in kills, hitting percentage, opponent hitting percentage and assists. Shih Ting Chen leads the PacWest with 5.09 kills while Ying Chun Chen is pacing the league in assists (11.45). Last time these two teams met both were ranked in the top 25 with BYUH at No. 5 and PLNU at No. 25. The Seasiders earned a four-set victory at home in the match. PLNU lost a close first set before bouncing back to win the second set. However, BYUH closed out the match with wins in sets three and four.
A LOOK AT THE SEA WARRIORS:
Hawaii Pacific is 16-8 on the season and in sixth place in the PacWest standings with a 10-6 record. The Sea Warriors have won their last three matches after dropping their previous three. Pomai Recca leads the team with 3.24 kills per set. Haley Doerfler is also ranked amongst the PacWest leaders with 1.09 rejections per set. This will be the first meeting of the season between the Sea Lions and Sea Warriors.
TICKET PRICES:
All Point Loma home events are free to PLNU students, staff and faculty (with ID card), and to all children 12 years old and younger. For others looking to attend the games tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for all non-PLNU student and seniors. All tickets are general admission seating and are available for purchase at the venue 90 minutes before game time.
PLAYOFFS AWAIT:
The Sea Lions have qualified for the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) West Regional which will be held Nov. 22-23. If the Sea Lions earn a win over any of their next four matches and Azusa Pacific picks up a loss, Point Loma will most likely host the Cougars on Friday, Nov. 22 with the opportunity to go the NCCAA Championships in Kissimmee, Florida (Dec. 5-7) on the line.
