SAN DIEGO - Nathan Bennett has been named the PacWest Conference's Baseball Newcomer of the Week for the week of Mar. 7-13.
 
Bennett, a junior transfer from the College of Southern Nevada, continued his impressive season with 7.1 scoreless innings on the week. He made a spot start against Hawai'i Hilo, the first of his career, and threw six scoreless innings for the win. He didn't allow a runner past second base and gave up just three hits. In 17.2 innings pitched this season, mostly as a set-up man, Bennett has yet to allow a run.
