PLNU was eliminated from postseason play on Friday, falling to seventh-ranked Georgetown (Ky) in three close sets (25-21, 26-24, 27-25). The loss also snaps Point Loma's 31-match win streak against non-GSAC teams.

The 15-ranked Sea Lions put up quite a fight in the second and third sets especially, but came up just short against the Tigers, who improve to 43-3 on the season and advance to the NAIA's quarterfinals.

PLNU was led by Tabitha Henken, who hammered out 21 kills, but 17 hitting errors did not help the Sea Lions. Alyssa Pitkin added 10 kills in the loss. Nicole Eiler led the team with 25 digs. Kylie Morel had 19 assists in her final game as a Sea Lion and Natalie Hamill added 18 assists.

PLNU finishes the season with a record of 22-13. The team has reason to be optimistic for next season. They do lose Morel to graduation, but should return every other major contributor from this year's squad.
