SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Tabitha Henken smashed 15 winners and Alyssa Dwyer added 13 kills as the No. 14-ranked Sea Lions swept Hannibal-LaGrange (MO) 3-0 (25-19, 25-20, 25-14) Friday afternoon at the Seaside Invitational Tournament held in Golden Gym.

PLNU improves to 2-0 on the season with the win. The Sea Lions meet Baker (KS) later in the evening, at 8:00 pm. The Trojans are 0-1 on the year.

Point Loma trailed early in the opening set but tracked down the Trojans at 10-10 and never looked back. The Sea Lions eventually led by five points before Hannibal-LaGrange battled back to within two, but PLNU reeled off four straight points to end the set.

The Sea Lions led from start to finish in the final two sets. The Green and Gold was up by 10 points late in the second but the Trojans roared back to close the deficit to just four before PLNU finished things off. The third set was all PLNU, the Sea Lions cruising to a 11-point win.

PLNU hit just .250 but held Hannibal-LaGrange to a .089 percentage. Maddie Dahms added six kills in the win with Aimee Bird contributing 22 assists, six digs and five total blocks. Kelsey Barker had 18 digs while Natalie Hamill had 11 and Henken 14. Marissa Ellow had four total blocks.

No Trojan reached double-figure points, though Wanessa Siqueira had eight.
