Moment #6: The 2020-21 academic year saw many of the Point Loma programs rise to their highest national ranking since the Sea Lions joined NCAA Division II in 2014-15. Men's basketball, women's basketball, baseball, women's golf, men's soccer, and women's soccer all spent time in the top 25 this year.

The baseball team began the year at No. 15 and climbed all the way to No. 9, their highest ranking in program history. The women's basketball team also earned its best ranking as the women started the year out at 7-2 to earn the No. 20 spot in the country. This topped the team's previous best ranking of No. 24 from the 2016-17 season. Women's golf made everyone around the country take notice when they won their first three tournaments of the season. The Sea Lions moved to No. 14 and then up to No. 9. The men's basketball team was in the top 25 throughout the season but their highest ranking came on Feb. 9 when they rose to No. 8 in NCAA Division II. However, the best rankings of the season belong to the soccer teams. The women's team reached No. 6 after going unbeaten in its four games this season. The men's team became the first PLNU team ever ranked in the top 5 as it rose to No. 5 on Mar. 25 with a 5-0-0 record.
