Alfred Enano came to Point Loma Nazarene University as a junior in the fall of 1994, transferring from San Diego Mesa Community College. At Mesa his pitching coach was former Crusader pitcher/first baseman Kevin Hazlett,.
An exceptional physics major, Alfred worked around class and lab conflicts with baseball practice and games. In just two short years he rewrote a major part of the forty-year old PC/PLC pitching record book. Alfred cut up opposing batters like taking a physics lab test.
In 1995, he was the team MVP and made first team all GSAC. That year he led the team in wins with 8, a microscopic era of 1.74 and strike outs with 89. Again, in 1996, Alfred led the team in each of those statistical categories. His cumulative stats included a 17-4 record with two saves good for 10th place all time, a 2.08 era good for 2nd place all time and 189 strike outs good for 8th place all time. He is one of only 5 pitchers in our 60 years of baseball to have a no hit no run game. He blanked Northwest Nazarene University on March 24, 1995.
Alfred is married to Sherry. They have three daughters Desiree age 10, Alana age 7, and Kate age 2. Putting his physics background to good use, Alfred works as a “risk analyst” at Bureau Systems Group for HSBC auto finance. The Enano family makes their home here in San Diego.
Alfred it is with great pleasure that we congratulate you and induct you into the Point Loma Nazarene University Athletic Hall of Fame as a baseball athlete. Congratulations
