Hall of Fame
As co-vice president of Moorehouse Foods, George Latter and brother Dave were the source of a $2,000 scholarship that was given out for over 12 years. George followed in Dave’s footsteps by attending Pasadena College. A guard on the basketball team, George also showed athletic prowess on the first Pasadena College intercollegiate baseball team.
In addition to his financial support, which was significant, George became a prevalent part of the school and its athletic teams. Whenever teams traveled to the Bay Area, near George’s Walnut Creek home, he hosted them and when it came time to send his own children to school, it was an obvious choice for them to earn their degrees at the school their father believed in strongly. George also served on the Alumni Board, taking on the expense of travel to each meeting himself.
The Award for Meritorious Service was presented to Latter by Ed Davis.
