To this day Erin Kellar Hill remains one of the most dominant student-athletes to ever wear the Green & Gold. Kellar was a commanding presence the minute she stepped on the floor for the Sea Lions as a freshman, and it would continue over four highly decorated seasons (1999-03) in which she rewrote the record books.

Kellar was voted an NAIA All-American in each of her four seasons and set the PLNU women’s basketball record for points (2,330) and rebounds (972) in a career. She earned third team All-American honors as sophomore and senior, and an honorable mention as a freshman and junior. She was named the Golden State Athletic Conference Player of the Year as a freshman and would earn All-GSAC each year.

In her four seasons at Point Loma she broke nearly every scoring record. Her 2,330 career points shattered the previous school record by 548 points. Kellar also registered the most points in a season (690) and a game (40) in Point Loma history. In fact, Kellar is the only Sea Lion women’s basketball player to ever score 40 points in a game. She is also second in school history with 39 points in a game. Kellar led the team in scoring each of her four seasons as she was a highly efficient shooter from both the field and the free throw line. She ranks second in school history with a .543 field goal percentage and eighth with a .722 mark from the charity stripe.

It was not all just about offense for Kellar however, as she also excelled on defense, rebounding and getting her teammates involved. Just like she did with scoring, Kellar also led PLNU in rebounding in each of her four seasons. She dished out 348 assists in her career to rank seventh in school history. Her 195 career steals also place her seventh in the PLNU record books.

Kellar was also part of historic team her senior season when PLNU went 27-9. She helped lead the Sea Lions to their first-ever win at the NAIA Tournament when she scored 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds in a 71-49 win over Campbellsville.

Kellar would earn her degree in Psychology from PLNU in 2003 and go on to marry fellow PLNU graduate and former baseball student-athlete Arley Hill. The couple lives in San Ramon and has been blessed with a boy, Cason (4), and girl, Charley (1). Kellar now works at California High School as a counselor.
