Kerry “lefty” Morris came to Pasadena College in 1973 via Moses Lake Community College in Washington and immediately became the baseball team's number one pitcher. For three years, as the staff ace, he was a key component on three outstanding Crusader squads that reached the playoffs.
Kerry’s accomplishments on the mound are many. After leading PLNC with eight wins in 1974, he surpassed that feat in 1975 with 10 wins. Those 10 wins still stand as fourth most in a single season at Point Loma. Kerry also led the team in strikeouts all three seasons: 82 in 1973, 68 in 1974 and 71 in 1975
Though it's been 35 years since his college career ended, Kerry's name can be found in numerous places in the Point Loma baseball career record books including wins (21), ERA (2.72), innings pitched (304) and strikeouts (221). His 1.28 ERA in 1975 is still the all-time lowest in the history of the baseball program.
Kerry remained in San Diego after graduation, working in pharmaceutical sales before becoming an owner in Shoreline Partners, LLC in La Jolla. He and wife, Georgeann, are the parents of Jill and Mathew.
