Kerry Everett came to Point Loma in 1980 after an All-Star prep career at Hilltop High School in Chula Vista. He didn’t miss a beat in college.
During his four seasons, Kerry led the Point Loma baseball team in nearly every offensive category, including RBI for three seasons with 56 in 1981, 35 in 1982 and 62 in 1983. Kerry’s finest season came in 1983 when he batted .410, belted 15 homeruns and drove in 62 runs. Defensively, he was outstanding third baseman who possessed a tremendous arm.
Twenty-five years later, Kerry is still in the Point Loma record books as one of the top offensive producers in school history. He holds the Point Loma record for career RBIs with 171 and single season RBIs with 62. He is second in career home runs (32), doubles (41) and hits (227) and is sixth in runs scored (106).
A two-time NAIA District 3 performer, Kerry was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers and played four seasons of professional baseball. Later, he played softball on a touring team where he showcased his homerun hitting skills for crowds across the country.
