Bill Hanes has been a servant at Point Loma for decades. Even after his retirement from the university, he has remained dedicated to PLNU athletics. Not only is he one of the university’s all-time best fans, for more than 16 years he has served as treasurer of the Point Loma Sports Associates and has been the treasurer of the Golden State Athletic Conference since its inception in 1986.
Bill has been an accountant as long as one can remember, even dating back to his Pasadena College student days. After a few years away from the university, Bill joined the PLNU business office where he worked as assistant controller from 1983 to his retirement in 2004.
His retirement opened up another avenue of interest for Bill and his wife, Evelyn, as they began a passionate, full-time following of PLNU athletic teams. For many years the couple has attend every volleyball, men's basketball and women's basketball game - even on the road.
