Sola Del Rio Martin dominated at the setter position during her time on the court at Point Loma.
The three-time NAIA All-American is the career record holder for PLNU Volleyball in two major statistical categories - assists and service aces.
Her 6,620 career assists are 1,674 more than anyone else in program history, while her 285 service aces are 69 more than second place on the list.
In 2001, she set a program record for aces in a season with 95, which is 16 more than the next closest player. She also holds the program’s second, third and fourth-highest assist totals in a single season.
The three-time team MVP led Point Loma to a Golden State Athletic Conference championship in in 2000, which was the first of three-straight years that Point Loma won 28 or more matches and reached at least the quarterfinals of the NAIA National Tournament.
That stretch included a pair of third-place finishes at the national championships and a program record 35 wins in 2001.
