Robin Rabllo was one of the finest athletes to ever represent Point Loma. She played volleyball for three seasons (’91, ’92, ’95) and softball for three years (’92, ’93, ’94). She undoubtedly would have been a star at basketball as well had not volleyball overlapped so far and softball begun before it finished. She could have played in any sport higher than the average level. Rabello’s records are numerous to say the least.

In three seasons on the volleyball team, Rabello amassed some of the best numbers statistically in school history. She is ranked sixth on the all-time career kills list with 1,362. Her 747 single-season kills and her 39 kills in a single match are all-time Sea Lion records. Along with many statistical honors, Rabello was a two-time All-GSAC and Region II selection while being named a First Team NAIA All-American in 1995 when as she led the team to the Elite Eight at the National Championships.

In softball, Rabello was an amazing hitter with a lifetime batting average of .473, including a single season average of .490 in 1992. She hit 14 triples for Point Loma—nine in ’92. Raello hit six home runs in each of two seasons and accounted for 12 over her career. She also hit 21 doubles.

A combination of power and speed, Rabello didn’t just beat teams with the longball. She ranks in the top-five all-time with 38 walks and 54 stolen bases. Rabello also took the mound for 216 innings pitched and was the ’92 team MVP and well as All-GSAC and All-Region II First Team at the catcher position in 1994.

The award for Outstanding Achievement by an Athlete was presented to Rabello by Bob Brower.
