Hall of Fame
One of the most decorated softball student-athletes during the Sea Lions’ great teams in the late 2000’s. Addie played for PLNU from 2005-08 where she was named a first team NAIA All-American as a senior.
Addie was a dominating force for the Sea Lions not only in the batter’s box but on the bases. She still ranks as Point Loma’s all-time leader in career hits (334), runs (216) and stolen bases (185). Her senior season batting average of .412 is still the third-best in school history.
Addie was a force throughout her four seasons in the Green & Gold. She terrorized the opponents on the bases each year and still ranks first (52), second (51), fifth (43) and seventh (39) in school history in steals for a season. However, Addie was not only a threat when she reached base but was also a prolific hitter during her four seasons. Each year Addie posted at least 73 hits, including her junior and senior seasons in which she recorded 89 and 90 hits, respectively. Those two totals are still the second and third best single-season hit totals in Point Loma softball history. Â
Addie left Point Loma in 2008 with her name not only forever etched in the Sea Lions’ record books but also in the NAIA history books. Her 185 stolen bases left her as the NAIA career leader, 11 ahead of second place. Addie has since been passed by Britney Webb of Belhaven in career stolen bases (213); however, her 92.5 percent stolen base success rate is still the best in NAIA history (min. 150 attempts).
In addition to her NAIA first team All-American honors in 2008, Addie also picked up multiple pieces of hardware as she was recognized both regionally and nationally for her outstanding play. She was a two-time NAIA All-Tournament first team selection as she helped the Sea Lions reach the championship game in 2007 and earn third place nationally in 2008. Addie also added a pair of All-GSAC selections to her resume.
Since taking off the cleats Addie has become a mother to Addison Mitchell. Addie has worked in the education field but is currently pursuing her dream of becoming an actress (SAG-AFTRA). Prior to coming to PLNU, Addie was an All-American in high school and played on the nation’s No. 1 ranked travel softball team for two seasons.
